The aim of this blog is to provide a variety of activities that my students in the first year of Compulsory Secondary Education can use to reinforce or improve their knowledge of the different contents we will be learning in class. It will also facilitate the teacher-students communication.

Two basic things we have been revising at the beginning of this year are the verbs to be (ser o estar) and to have (tener). Do the next exercises... you do understand, don't you?
In this academic year 2014-2015, I want to say hello (again ;-)) to all my new students in the first year of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE): groups A and B.
We'll use this blog:
- To revise the contents of exams: check the links I'll post here for you and you'll get a lot of practice for the exams we'll do.
- To find important information about the development of the course: exam dates, things your teacher wants you to have in mind...
- To practice different songs we'll do in class: you'll find karaoke versions of them here.
- To access games and information in English that can be fun.
This post is to encourage all my first year CSE students to study and work (A, B, C)... we have 2 weeks left for summer holidays...I know you have a lot of tests, now, study hard, you can pass!
Now, you can watch the next song we'll be listening to in class. We'll have to do some activities about it soon. In this video you can read the lyrics and dance, it will be fun ;-)
As you know, I won't come to class on Thursday (1º CSE A and B) and Friday (1º CSE C).I know what you are thinking...
Here is the homework you'll have to do in class during the English lesson:
1º) Do the next exercises online. When you finish, check the solutions online. Did you do them well? In the past simple link you have more than one exercise. Do and correct all of them.
Remember: if you don't know the meaning of a word, you can check it in :
www.wordreference.com
When you have finished, and only then, you can watch the next video and do a task...
You'll have to do the next task:
- Write 10 English words related to objects you can see in the video (very easy).
- Write 5 words related to verbs you can see in the video (easy).
- Write 3 sentences in simple present, 3 in present continuous, and 3 in simple past related to things you can see Mr Bean does in the video.
If you can't see the video in the blog, try this:
Go to www.youtube.com and write Good night Mr Bean. Search for the video directly.
I hope you don't miss me too much. We'll correct the exercises next Monday, so please work hard during that English lesson if you want to finish them. And please behave well...
Click this link and you'll enter a webpage where you can read and listen to a funny poem. You can practice the pronunciation while you listen to it, just click the symbol.
